New Pennsylvania Energy Plan Highlights Enerwise

Kennett Square, PA — February 7, 2007 — Demand response was a predominant feature of the energy plan announced by Pennsylvania Governor Edward G. Rendell on Thursday February 1, 2007, bringing even greater attention to an issue that has long been a focus for Kennett Square, PA-based Enerwise Global Technologies. In fact, Enerwise was one of only a handful of companies credited by the Governor for helping to shape the plan, which is expected to save consumers money and reduce reliance on foreign fuels.
Demand response programs give consumers the tools they need to anticipate peak energy periods and adjust energy usage accordingly, providing energy revenue incentives for power users and reducing strain on the electric infrastructure. The Pennsylvania energy plan prioritizes demand response initiatives such as smart metering to reduce energy spending, and allocates $244 million in funding to help consumers install state-of-the-art energy technology. This expertise made the company a valuable resource during the Pennsylvania plan's development.

The Pennsylvania plan comes at a time when energy is a hot issue on the national agenda. In Washington, DC, the Senate Energy Committee Democrats recently outlined their priorities for energy security, which include renewable energy and smart grid development.
