PPL EnergyPlus, LLC Selects Comverge for Full-Service Energy Management
PPL to Offer Demand Response Programs, Metering, Hosted Web Portal, Energy Audits, Using Comverge as the Curtailment Service Provider in the PJM Market
East Hanover, NJ: July 01, 2008 — Comverge, Inc. (NASDAQ: COMV), a leading clean capacity provider through demand response and energy efficiency, announced today that it has been selected by PPL EnergyPlus, LLC, for full-service energy management services that include demand response programs, energy audits, metering and integration, and other energy curtailment services as part of PPL’s continuing initiative to strengthen its competitive energy business.
PPL EnergyPlus is the energy marketing and trading subsidiary of PPL Corporation, a Fortune 500 energy company based in Allentown, Pa. PPL EnergyPlus buys and sells energy commodities and structured products in competitive wholesale markets and active in deregulated retail markets for commercial and industrial (C&I) customers.
Comverge will extend the arm of energy services PPL EnergyPlus offers to its C&I customers comprehensive energy solutions provided to produce energy load reduction in the PJM market. With deregulation coming next year, PPL EnergyPlus will offer, for the first time, retail energy services to its C&I customers.

Comverge will enroll participating PPL EnergyPlus customers in demand response programs administered by the Regional Transmission Organization (RTO) or the Independent System Operator (ISO) which will compensate customers for curtailing load against specific program parameters.
