Enerwise Global Technologies Delivers Demand Response Services to FirstEnergy
Kennett Square, PA — September 28, 2004 — Enerwise Global Technologies, a leader in enterprise energy management, announced today it is providing services to FirstEnergy to enable customer owned distributed generation assets to operate during high cost hours during the day. FirstEnergy as a Curtailment Service Provider works with its customers to provide demand response services within PJM. Enerwise is providing integration, monitoring, and operation capability for customer owned distributed generation assets on behalf of FirstEnergy.
The Enerwise service gives FirstEnergy the capability to pilot remote management of customer generation to react to high price signals, and support reductions in customer usage during these high demand periods. Enerwise provides FirstEnergy with control, monitoring and alarming capabilities through a web-based interface between Enerwise and FirstEnergy.
Enerwise was able to respond quickly to FirstEnergy and provide hardware and software solutions for integration, metering, and monitoring services to ensure the site was operational for the 2004 high usage period.
