Enerwise Global Technologies Introduces Enerwise Energy Manager 3.0
Next generation of enterprise energy management solution expands monitored commodities, integrates SCADA power systems with Enerwise web-based technology
Kennett Square, PA — September 30, 2002 — Enerwise Global Technologies, a leader in enterprise energy management, announced today the release of Enerwise Energy Manager 3.0, the next generation of its turnkey solution for the collection and analysis of multidimensional energy information. This latest version of the industry-leading energy management platform expands monitoring and analysis of energy usage to include additional commodities such as natural gas, steam, chilled water and oil. In addition, a number of reporting and usability enhancements provide a more intuitive customer interface, allowing managers to modify detailed report views even after reports are run.
The system further expands businesses' ability to monitor and understand their energy usage, identify and avoid disturbances and signal power managers on opportunities to reduce costs. In addition to managing a broader range of commodities, Enerwise Energy Manager integrates site-based supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) capabilities with Enerwise's web-based platform. This enables energy managers to remotely monitor the activity status of key electrical equipment such as generators, automated transfer switches (ATS) and uninterrupted power supply (UPS) systems.
"For a number of years we have provided site-based SCADA systems for our largest commercial and industrial customers," said David Ellis, Director of Technology and Business Development. "As a reflection of our commitment to furnishing a total energy solution to every customer, we recognized the importance of providing information to remote users through our web-based technology, and thus developed interfaces to accommodate their needs."
Where "smart" meters have been installed, Enerwise Energy Manager's Distributed Generation feature enables the customer to track and trend fundamental site-generated power quantities and UPS equipment. Site data reports provide energy managers views of key electrical conditions, such as average current, frequency, total harmonic distortion and more. Additionally, a UPS data-monitoring function provides similar views of UPS-specific information, including remaining battery time.
Like previous releases, Enerwise Energy Manager remotely gathers data from multiple locations, identifies anomalies and generates detailed and clear reports. This information is multidimensional, representing data from various sites during multiple time periods. The solution furnishes on-demand, advanced reporting of aggregated and time-span-specific consumption totals, load comparisons, day-by-day demand profiles and usage allocation-all accessed through a user-friendly web interface. The easy-to-navigate interface also includes an on?line bulletin board to facilitate communication and link to other sources of news, technology and weather information relevant to energy management.
